Our Sin
Our first parents, Adam and Eve, rebelled against God. They chose
not to obey Him by eating fruit of the forbidden tree in the Garden
of Eden. But God did not abandon His people. In His mercy, He promised
to look after them forever, if they would obey Him.
However, God's people could not obey Him perfectly. We, too, share
in this rebellion. The Bible says that each one of us is corrupt;
we are unable to seek God or please Him on our own.
"As it is written: None is righteous, no not one; no one understands,
no one seeks for God. " Romans 3:10-11
Salvation
The good news is that God sent His Son, Jesus
Christ, into the world. He was able to obey God perfectly and
He fulfilled all of God's requirements. If we confess to God our
rebellion and sin and believe in Him, we can look forward to a renewed
relations hip with God, one that will last forever.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal
life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23
If
you don't believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour...
Service
In thankfulness to God, we are to live lives that are pleasing
to Him, according to the instructions found in His Word, the Bible.
Our purpose is to honour and glorify God, not only through our worship
services, but through the way we live our lives each day. God has
given us the Holy Spirit, who lives inside
all believers, to help us know how to live for Him.
"I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to
present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to
God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this
world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, tha t you
may prove what is the will of God, what is good, and acceptable
and perfect." Romans 12:1-2
